A symposium organized by the Center for Strategic Studies of the Armed Forces in the interim capital, Aden, recommended improving the retirement system for military and security institutions and providing additional sources of funding for the retirement fund, with the aim of ensuring a decent life for military and security retirees.
The symposium stressed the need to update legislation related to military and security retirement in line with current challenges, in addition to introducing modern technologies in the management of retiree services.
It also called for the formation of a joint committee between the Ministries of Defense and Interior to study the retirement system and submit proposals to improve it in order to achieve social and economic stability for this category.
These recommendations come within the framework of efforts to ensure the rights of retirees in light of the difficult economic conditions that the country is going through.
