“No modern president has been more important to our country than Donald Trump,” a Republican congresswoman said as she announced her introduction of a bill to make Trump’s birthday a national American holiday.
Republican Rep. Claudia Tenney of New York introduced a bill Friday that would make President Donald Trump's birthday, June 14, a national holiday.
The Trump Birthday and Flag Day Holiday Act proposes to recognize both June 14 as federal public holidays.
No modern president has been more pivotal for our country than Donald J. Trump.

“Just as George Washington’s birthday is a federal holiday, so too should President Trump’s birthday be celebrated to recognize him as the founder of America’s Gilded Age,” Tenney wrote on social media platform X on Monday, according to The Hill.
George Washington was born on February 22, but Presidents' Day, which is his birthday, is celebrated on the third Monday in February.
In a separate post on Friday, shared after she introduced the Trump birthday bill, Tenney said: “No modern president has been more important to our country than Donald J. Trump.”
“Today, I introduced a bill to designate Trump’s birthday and Flag Day as federal holidays, ensuring that President Trump’s contributions to American greatness are forever enshrined in law,” she added.
The bill represents the latest attempt by Republican lawmakers to memorialize Trump and some of his "America First" statements.
Last month, Republican Rep. Addison McDowell introduced a bill to rename Washington Dulles International Airport after Trump.
McDowell introduced the bill along with Reps. Jay Reschenthaler (R-Pa.), Brian Jack (R-Ga.), Riley Moore (R-W.Va.), and Brandon Gill (R-Texas).
