Sana'a: Yemen Youth Net

A bus driver in the capital, Sana'a, was assaulted by members of the Houthi militia's traffic department, before the militia accused him of assaulting its men and held him responsible for the incident, in an incident that sparked a wave of popular anger.
Despite the spread of a video clip documenting the attack inside the bus, the militia's traffic media claimed in an official statement that the driver was at fault, alleging that one of the traffic officers was bitten and his uniform was torn.
The statement also confirmed the arrest of the traffic officer involved in the accident, but stressed that the driver was at fault.
The statement sparked further controversy after it was announced that filming any fight with traffic police and publishing it on social media is prohibited, considering it forbidden under any pretext, in a move that activists considered an attempt to cover up the violations of traffic police.
In contradiction to the driver's accusation, the statement explained that a traffic officer contacted the driver to resolve the issue, which observers considered an implicit admission that the traffic officers were the aggressors.
For their part, activists published photos showing the traffic policeman during the attack without any tear in his uniform, accusing the militia of trying to falsify the facts to exonerate its members.
