Ambassadors of the five permanent members affirm their rejection of any new escalation of the conflict in Yemen

The ambassadors of the five permanent members of the Security Council unanimously rejected any new wave of violence or escalation of the conflict in Yemen and the region.
This came during a meeting between the UN envoy to Yemen and the ambassadors of the five permanent member states, on Monday, according to a statement published by the Russian embassy in Yemen.
"I participated in the meeting of ambassadors to Yemen of the five permanent members of the Security Council with the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Yemen, Hans Grundberg," said the Russian Chargé d'Affaires to Yemen, Dr. Yevgeny Kudrov, on Monday.
He added in a statement published on his account on the X platform that during the meeting, ways to resolve the crisis in Yemen were discussed.
Kudrov explained that he stressed during the meeting "the importance of making more effective efforts to resume the political settlement in the Republic of Yemen, with the necessity of taking into account the positions of all parties to the conflict with the aim of quickly resuming the negotiation process."
The Russian diplomat pointed out that all participants in the meeting confirmed their rejection of any steps that might lead to a new round of escalation of the conflict in and around Yemen.
