Egypt renews its firm support for Yemen, its unity and territorial integrity

The Arab Republic of Egypt renewed, on Monday, its firm support for Yemen's unity, stability and territorial integrity.

This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, Badr Abdel-Ati, during his meeting with his Yemeni counterpart, Shaye Al-Zindani, in Cairo on the sidelines of the preparatory ministerial meeting for the emergency Arab summit on Palestine.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry said that Minister Abdel-Ati stressed during the meeting "Egypt's firm support for the unity of the Yemeni state, its institutions, its independence and the integrity of its territories," noting the importance of Yemen's security and stability for achieving regional security and the Red Sea region.

The Egyptian Minister expressed his country's support for all efforts aimed at reaching a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis, in a way that meets the aspirations of the brotherly Yemeni people and ends their humanitarian suffering.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry explained that Minister Abdel Aati discussed the ongoing steps to prepare for the Arab Summit hosted by Cairo on March 4 regarding the situation in the Gaza Strip, pointing in this context to Egypt's efforts aimed at ensuring the sustainability of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, and the plan being formulated for reconstruction.

The Egyptian Minister stressed Egypt's rejection of the displacement of Palestinians, and the necessity of striving to reach a permanent and just political solution to the Palestinian issue.

For his part, Minister Al-Zindani briefed his Egyptian counterpart on the latest developments in the Yemeni affair and the efforts made to end the war and achieve peace, appreciating Egypt's firm position towards the Yemeni government and people.

He stressed the keenness of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government to support all peace initiatives aimed at ending the Houthi coup and achieving a just and sustainable peace that puts an end to the suffering of the Yemeni people, according to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba).
