Yemeni Foreign Minister Shaye' Al-Zindani confirmed that the role of reducing the influence of the Houthi militia and striking it as one of Iran's arms in the region is inevitably coming, as happened with the rest of the other arms, reiterating his country's rejection of any Iranian interference in Yemen's internal affairs.

This came in an interview he gave to the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Anbaa on the sidelines of his visit to Kuwait, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs republished it on its website.

In response to a question about the latest developments on the political front, Minister Al-Zindani explained that "a roadmap was agreed upon through the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman, but it was halted due to the Houthi escalation in the Red Sea, where they attacked ships and obstructed international navigation and trade."

Regarding the extent to which the situation in Yemen is affected by what is happening in the region, Minister Al-Zindani said, “There is no doubt that the Yemeni interior is directly affected by the volatile situation in the region. There is a clear connection, as the Houthis are considered one of Iran’s tools or one of its arms in the region.”

He added: "With the shrinking influence of Iran's other arms and their exposure to strikes, the Houthis' turn will also come."

The Minister concluded his interview by saying that his country is keen on the supreme interests of the Yemeni people and the unity of their ranks and territory, noting that his country seeks to build a modern and strong Yemeni state for all Yemenis, reiterating his country's categorical rejection of any form of Iranian interference in its internal affairs.
