Italian Foreign Minister: We decided to appoint an ambassador to Yemen to support the legitimate government

Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Antonio Tajani confirmed that in order to support the legitimate government in Yemen, we decided with the Council of Ministers to appoint an Italian ambassador to it, specifically to give a signal of closeness to the legitimate authorities allied with the Gulf States.
This came in statements on the occasion of the general meeting of the Association for Sustainable Intermodal Logistics ( ALIS ), which was held in the Rome conference hall on Tuesday, according to the Italian news agency (AKI).
The head of Italian diplomacy pointed out that "great results were achieved through the European Aspides mission in the Red Sea, represented by the protection of Italian and other maritime transport through the Suez Canal and in the sea itself."
"Thanks to our naval forces, dozens of ships have passed unharmed by Houthi attacks, allowing goods to pass without being hit," said Tajani, who is also deputy prime minister.
He explained that "this was a political choice, as we once again ensured that our armed forces are an instrument for ensuring peace and development."
