An elderly woman was injured on Monday when a landmine left by the Houthi militia exploded in the countryside of Taiz Governorate, southwest of Yemen.

The Yemeni Observatory for Landmines reported that a woman named Jamila Ahmed Al-Drein, in her sixties, was injured by the explosion of a war object while she was herding cattle near her home in the village of Al-Kharif in the Dhubab district in the countryside of Taiz Governorate.

This comes two days after four citizens were killed and injured by a Houthi mine explosion in Al Hudaydah Governorate, west of the country.

Four soldiers were injured at the end of last February by a Houthi mine explosion in Taiz Governorate.

Houthi mines have killed and injured about ten thousand civilians in Yemen, according to local and international human rights reports.
