Sheikh Hamid Al-Ahmar
Sheikh Hamid bin Abdullah Al-Ahmar, a member of the House of Representatives, stressed that the ongoing military escalation by the Houthis and their hostile statements will not affect the inevitable and fateful decision to end the coup and restore the Yemeni state.
This came in a post on his page on the "X" platform, after he left Riyadh, where he met with a number of Yemeni leaders present in the Kingdom, or who had visited it, at a time when Yemen is witnessing increasing popular pressures demanding an end to the coup and the restoration of the state.
Sheikh Hamid explained that the Houthis have repeatedly proven their unwillingness for peace, and have missed a valuable opportunity to achieve peace that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has seriously and sincerely sought.
He pointed out that their military escalation and recent mobilizations cannot change the inevitable decision to end their coup, but only increases the cost to them and their system. These actions also reveal the lack of realism within the group and their loss of hope in achieving any political solution.
Sheikh Hamid stressed that the international position has changed significantly, as there is no longer any retreat or obstruction by the international community, as happened previously, when efforts to liberate Hodeidah faltered and faced procrastination in liberating Sana'a.
He pointed out that the discontent of citizens in areas under Houthi control has reached unprecedented levels, and that the continuation of the policy of violence and intransigence will only lead to an escalation of popular unrest.
Sheikh Hamid stressed that he had always been certain that the Houthi coup would come to an end, no matter the circumstances. He added that today he is even more certain of that, expressing his hope that the wise men of Yemen will be able to avoid any potential societal cost in the coming days.
He stressed the importance of addressing the upcoming challenges wisely and consciously in order to overcome this crisis.
Riyadh is the capital of Arab decision-making.
