Informed sources revealed demands by the Transitional Council, which is participating in the legitimate government, to impose a number of its supporters in state institutions, as a condition for allowing all state authorities to return to work from the temporary capital, Aden.
Colleague Abdullah Dubla said in last night’s episode of the “From the Other Side” program, which he presents on the “Yemeni Youth” channel, that the member of the Presidential Leadership Council and head of the Transitional Council calling for secession, Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, demanded the appointment of a number of his supporters as deputy ministers, in addition to appointing others in other government bodies such as the Anti-Corruption Authority, the Central Organization for Control and Accounting, and the Tenders and Auctions Committee.
He added that Al-Zubaidi presented his demands to the Presidential Leadership Council in its last meeting held in Riyadh on Tuesday, which discussed a set of comprehensive reforms to enhance the efficiency of state institutions, including the return of all state institutions to work from the interim capital, Aden, and the liberated governorates.
Colleague "Dublah" indicated, quoting private sources, that a number of demands submitted by Al-Zubaidi were not heeded, which prompted him to leave the meeting angrily.
"Dublah" expressed his surprise at the Transitional Council's rush to government positions despite its field control over the capital, Aden, and its institutions, noting that there is no explanation for this except that the council, supported by the UAE, considers these positions a testing ground for its supporters before the coup against the state and the declaration of secession at some point.
The STC's requirements come after government moves to arrange for the reconvening of the House of Representatives in the interim capital, Aden.
On Tuesday, the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) reported that the Leadership Council continued its meetings in Riyadh, with the attendance of all its members and Prime Minister Ahmed bin Mubarak. It discussed the latest developments in the national arena, and the government efforts made to secure services and alleviate the human suffering caused by the terrorist Houthi militias supported by the Iranian regime.
She added that the Presidential Council listened to a report from the Prime Minister on the indicators of economic and institutional performance during the past period, the path of comprehensive reforms, and the procedures and decisions required to strengthen and enhance the role and position of the government in facing the challenges ahead, and improve its performance at the central and local levels.
She stated that the Presidential Leadership Council stressed its directives to complete the return of all state institutions to work from the interim capital, Aden, and the liberated governorates, and to urgently deal with the economic and service situation, enhance efforts to combat corruption, improve public revenues, reduce expenditures, and work on the recommendations of the bodies supporting the Council, and regional and international partners.
The Council urged the government to double its efforts to facilitate the interventions of the humanitarian community, facilitate the movement of relief workers, and enable them to reach local communities, while stressing the need to accelerate the restructuring of the Supreme Relief Commission, as well as the establishment of a national body to care for the wounded and the families of martyrs.
He also reiterated the need to complete the procedures to enhance the role of anti-corruption mechanisms, including restructuring the Central Agency for Control and Accounting, forming the Supreme Committee for Tenders and Auctions, and the Supreme Authority for Tenders and Auctions Control, in accordance with the applicable regulations and laws.
