Today, Tuesday, the forces of the UAE-backed Transitional Council took control of one of the gates of the Maashiq Presidential Palace in the interim capital, Aden (southern Yemen).

Informed sources told "Yemeni Youth Net" that the Transitional Council forces took control today of one of the palace gates from the upper side, which was under the management of the Presidential Protection Battalion.

The sources added that the gate guards of the presidential protection forces withdrew into the palace grounds to avoid armed clashes with the attacking forces.

Sources indicate that the Transitional Forces, with their new move, aim to complete control over the entrances to the presidential palace, as they had previously controlled two gates of the palace.

The STC's moves come as part of a new escalation process that observers have linked to demands by the council's presidency for political and military appointments in state institutions that have not been met.

The head of the Transitional Council and member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Aidarous al-Zubaidi, left the last meeting of the Leadership Council last Tuesday in Riyadh, after he tried to pass decisions appointing his supporters, which were not heeded by the council members.

The Transitional Council has been storming the presidential palace and the government headquarters in Aden on several occasions to pressure the legitimate government to pass decisions in favor of the council, which has the largest share of state institutions in the capital, Aden, and effectively controls them from the military and security side as a de facto authority.
