Hodeidah: Yemen Youth Net

The Tihama Foundation for Rights and Freedoms condemned the execution of child Mahmoud Omar Ali Hadi, perpetrated by a member of the Houthi militia in the city of Al-Luhayyah in Al Hudaydah Governorate. The organization described the crime as a flagrant violation of international law and a crime against humanity, requiring those responsible to be held accountable before international courts.
The foundation explained in a statement that a member of the Houthi Navy, identified as "Abu Karar," fired a treacherous bullet from behind into the child Mahmoud's head, killing him instantly. This incident reflects the militia's brutality and ongoing violations against defenseless civilians, particularly in the Tihama region and Yemen in general.
The foundation emphasized that this crime represents an extension of a long series of violations committed by the Houthi militia, including field executions, extrajudicial killings, arbitrary arrests, and enforced disappearances. It emphasized the need for an independent international investigation to ensure that the perpetrators do not escape punishment.
The foundation called on the United Nations, the UN Security Council, and the International Criminal Court to open an urgent investigation into this crime and take serious steps to hold its perpetrators accountable, warning that international silence on such crimes encourages the militia to continue its human rights violations.
The Foundation also called on the Yemeni government to take immediate legal and diplomatic measures to prosecute those responsible for these crimes before international courts, and to document the violations and submit them to the relevant human rights authorities.
The Foundation expressed its full solidarity with the family of Mahmoud Omar Ali Hadi, affirming that this crime will not go unpunished and that it will continue its efforts, in coordination with international human rights organizations, to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.
