Two people were seriously injured after being shot and assaulted by members of influential leaders of the terrorist Houthi militia, in two separate incidents in Ibb Governorate (central Yemen).

Local sources reported that members of the entourage of Houthi leader Abdul Wahid al-Marouei, appointed by the militia as Ibb's deputy governor for technical affairs, severely beat a motorcycle engineer in the Qahza area, west of Ibb city.

The sources added that an altercation broke out between the engineer and one of Al-Marouei's companions, who was repairing Al-Marouei's motorcycle. Al-Marouei then summoned other companions, who beat the engineer, shot him, and abducted him to an unknown location before dumping him on the side of the road.

Sources indicated that the victim was transferred to a hospital in the city and admitted to intensive care.

In another incident, a Houthi member working as a personal bodyguard for the security director of the Al-Udayn branch of the Houthi militia shot Mohammed Abdul Aziz Daas at the Al-Hajf checkpoint in the same district.

The sources added that Daas sustained serious injuries and was taken to Al-Wazira Hospital in the district before being transferred to the Al-Thawra General Hospital in the governorate center due to the severity of his condition.

Sources indicated that the Houthi militia is attempting to cover up the crime by treating the victim as a war wounded person, while attempting to smuggle the perpetrator to an unknown location.
