The Israeli military said on Wednesday it had destroyed a key Hezbollah missile site near the border with Syria, hours before a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon was due to take effect.
According to Reuters, the Israeli army said that Israeli fighter jets bombed an underground complex used to produce surface-to-surface missiles and store precision weapons with help from Iran.
“The site was located in an underground complex near the Syrian border,” the army added. “Because of its proximity, the site was a central point through which thousands of weapons components, and even terrorist personnel, were smuggled from Syria and Lebanon.”
