The Battle of Salvation... The Logic of the Yemeni Moment

Our Writers| 14 December, 2024 - 4:55 PM

After the demise of the Iranian resistance axis in the two most important poles (Lebanon and Syria) and their horrific collapse, with the fall of that aura of exaggeration and deceptive amplification, the truth was revealed, which is that the poles of Iran are on the verge of collapse, and the liberation of Syria is considered a reason to diagnose the eyes and direct the destinies towards Sanaa and the logic of the appropriate moment to overthrow the Houthi militias and liberate the country from their sectarian grip and their Iranian servitude.

All realistic political and military indicators confirm the necessity for Yemen to begin the battle for salvation against the Houthi priesthood and to eradicate its existence. Its power and authority are not greater than what Assad had, and the Yemenis’ need for salvation is no less present than the need of the Syrians and Lebanese. Rather, it exceeds it many times more in passion, enthusiasm, certainty, and aversion to its continued existence than before.

The battle is no longer an internal Yemeni affair, far from the desire of the international and regional community, which have repeatedly tried to work to avoid Yemen slipping into war again. However, the Houthis squandered all opportunities, belittled all solutions, and underestimated all the damage caused by their arbitrary regional and international threats. A few weeks ago, Egypt stated that its loss last year from the income of the Suez Canal amounted to six billion dollars due to the Houthis’ threat to international navigation, and the change of course of commercial ships to avoid danger. In return, many international shipping companies admitted that they pay the Houthis sums of money to ensure the safe passage of their ships through the Red Sea.

In a recent statement by the UN envoy to Yemen, he said: “Yemen cannot wait for a peace map indefinitely.” This expression implies that the necessity of waging the battle for salvation is inevitable and logical, and it is expected that work will be done to achieve this in the coming days to give the Yemeni legitimacy a green light for this ambition.

Among the encouraging and motivating indicators for this option is what has recently become popular in the language of legitimate political discourse of a prominent theme represented by “unity of ranks” as a title for a new phase that all forces have accepted and taken as a bridge to overcome the failures of the present or the past. The question here is: If this theme is merely a political discourse devoid of action, truth, and seriousness and is considered a repositioning that is of no use except adding disappointment to all the previous setbacks that all forces bear the burden of, or is it proven that it is a national conclusion reached through political will and republican determination that will be translated into actual steps such as unifying the military forces affiliated with each component and reorganizing them into one national army and one military institution affiliated with the Yemeni Ministry of Defense affiliated with the Yemeni legitimacy and establishing a joint operations room that leads the liberation battle instead of the individual military and combat concentrations in different geographical areas of the liberated Yemeni lands, and its prominent separation from legitimacy because its reality contradicts its discourse, then the opportunity is available to get out of the crisis of the multiplicity of military forces and the differences in their directions and theater of operations. Otherwise, unity of ranks is a blatant lie. Legitimacy only makes things worse.

Here, the decision remains in the hands of the Yemeni legitimacy, which is fully aware that its continued state of no war and no peace is one of the most exhausting and stagnant reasons for its movement. Its submission to the decision to stop the war, on its part, made its army, lands and citizens an open arena for the Houthis to “prey” on day and night: violations, infiltrations, targeting with various weapons, numerous attempts to penetrate and the outbreak of confrontations from time to time, and the fall of martyrs and human victims, both civilian and military, equipment and property. These losses force the legitimacy to resolve to fight a battle without hesitation or calculating the consequences. On the other hand, the current situation between them has led the legitimacy to a real predicament at this time, with which it has been unable to pay salaries and the economic collapse is at its peak due to the Houthi economic pressures on the legitimacy, such as the exchange rate difference, preventing the export of oil and gas, paralyzing the movement of legitimate ports and controlling many resources in its favor, putting the legitimacy on the brink of incapacity, which means remaining in it and abandoning the logic of salvation, a certain collapse against which all means of rescue will be of no use.

If the military and civil servants have been without salaries for months, and if they receive them, they do not cover 10% of their needs, and the people are in a state of real famine and extreme poverty here and there, a people who have lost their ability to endure and dream of an adventure of salvation, either to be liberated from their enemy who controls their fate or to perish for the sake of their dream of liberation and life, and from here, exploiting this popular discontent with the militias and the total readiness for a decisive battle by the masses will tip the scales in favor of victory, and the peoples are always unable to be curbed by any authority or quell their anger, as their will devours every challenge and brings down every tyrant.

After reading the scene from all sides, grasping the moment and examining his awareness and feelings, the battle for salvation is not just an illusion from a short-sighted and limited-minded writer, but rather all the data I have counted supports my argument and proves that this option is a final salvation for the fate of every Yemeni who pays the price of the militias’ continued existence with his blood, money, honor and freedom, whether in the liberated areas or in the occupied areas. The danger is not limited to the individual only; rather, it extends to every partisan, political, military, societal or civil component, as it is impossible to coexist with a racist priestly lineage or to preserve their ambitions or projects while they remain squatting on Yemen’s land and people.
