The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced the death of 356 people and the injury of 1,246 others, including women, children and paramedics, as a result of Israeli raids on southern and eastern Lebanon since Monday morning.

Lebanese Health Minister Firas Abiad said in a press conference that the raids targeted hospitals, medical centers and ambulances.

For his part, Lebanese Education Minister Abbas Al-Halabi announced the closure of schools and universities tomorrow, Tuesday, throughout the country. The authorities decided to open educational institutions to shelter those displaced by the most violent Israeli bombardment of Lebanon since October 8, 2023.

The Israeli army carried out hundreds of air strikes on southern and eastern Lebanon since the morning, and its spokesman said that this attack is a "preemptive strike" after detecting Hezbollah movements to target Israel.

The occupation does not rule out a ground invasion

The Israeli army spokesman said that the army attacked about 1,300 Hezbollah targets throughout Lebanon.

He added that he does not rule out the Israeli army entering Lebanon by land, stressing that the army will do everything necessary to return the residents of the north to their homes.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made statements from the Defense Ministry's main command room in Tel Aviv, saying that Israel was "on the cusp of complicated days."

"I promised that we would change the balance of power in the north, and that is exactly what we are doing," he continued, stressing that Israel "does not wait for the threat, but rather anticipates it," according to Channel 12.

Meanwhile, the Walla website quoted senior Israeli army commanders as saying that they are "ready to launch a ground operation in Lebanon."

Explosions in Haifa

Hezbollah responded with waves of missile attacks targeting a wide area from the Golan to Haifa and all the way to Marj Ibn Amer.

Sirens sounded in towns in the greater Tel Aviv area and near Ben Gurion Airport, and rockets were reported falling in locations in the West Bank.

In total, about 200 rockets have been fired from Lebanon into Israel since this morning, The Times of Israel reported.

Yedioth Ahronoth reported that explosions were heard in the city of Haifa and that sirens went off in the southern part of the city.

Sirens also sounded in Acre, Carmel and the central Galilee after a large barrage of rockets was fired from Lebanon.

Hezbollah announced that it had bombed with dozens of missiles the Ramat David base and airport, the Northern Corps reserve headquarters, and the Galilee Division reserve base in the Amiad base. It also bombed the Rafael military industries complexes in the Zevulun area, north of Haifa.

Israeli media reported that rockets fired from Lebanon fell in the Upper Galilee and Nazareth district.

Israel Hayom reported that an Israeli was injured when rockets fell in the Upper Galilee. The army also announced that 5 Israelis were injured when a rocket fell near the Golani Junction in the Lower Galilee.

The war on the Lebanese front has entered a new phase with the escalation of Israeli attacks in Lebanon through launching complex attacks over two days targeting Hezbollah’s communications devices, resulting in the martyrdom and injury of hundreds, followed by an attack on the southern suburbs, resulting in the martyrdom and injury of hundreds, including leaders of the party’s Radwan Force.
