Sisi in response to Trump: We will not be a party to any plan to displace the Palestinian people

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi stressed that the deportation or displacement of the Palestinian people is “an injustice in which we cannot participate,” in his first response to the proposal recently announced by US President Donald Trump to transfer the residents of the Gaza Strip to Egypt and Jordan.
During a joint press conference held by President Sisi with his Kenyan counterpart William Ruto at Al-Ittihadiya Palace, Al-Sisi stressed that "the constants of the historical Egyptian position towards the Palestinian issue cannot be compromised in any way, and that the fundamental foundations on which the Egyptian position is based are fixed and solid."
He added: "It is out of the question to tolerate or allow any plan to displace Palestinians, as it poses a direct threat to Egyptian national security."
Sisi said: "Egypt is determined to work with US President Donald Trump to achieve the desired peace based on the two-state solution," stressing that this is the only way to achieve a just and permanent settlement of the Palestinian issue.
The Egyptian President pointed out that there are historical rights that cannot be ignored, stressing that Egyptian, Arab and international public opinion believes that the Palestinian people have been subjected to historical injustice for 70 years, and that any attempt to deny these rights will not be accepted in the region or on the international scene.
Al-Sisi also pointed out that the international community has witnessed the suffering experienced by the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, especially after the continuous destruction for more than 14 months.
He explained that Egypt had warned since the beginning of the crisis that the goal was to make life in Gaza impossible in order to force the Palestinians to be forcibly displaced, stressing that the Egyptian position was clear from the beginning in rejecting this scenario categorically.
