White House comments
Earlier on Wednesday, the White House acknowledged that Jordan's King Abdullah II rejected President Trump's plan to displace Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, during talks between the two on Friday.
White House spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt said US President Donald Trump believes it would be much better for the Palestinians to move them out of the Gaza Strip.
The spokeswoman explained that “the king prefers that the Palestinians remain where they are,” noting that “the American president feels that it would be much better and more dignified if these Palestinians could be moved to safer areas.”

The Jordanian monarch said yesterday, Tuesday, that he stressed during a meeting with the US President in Washington his country's firm position against the displacement of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.
He added in a post on the X platform, "I reiterated Jordan's firm position against the displacement of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. This is the unified Arab position. Everyone's priority must be to rebuild Gaza without displacing its people, and to deal with the difficult humanitarian situation in the Strip."
