Hafez Bashar al-Assad, the son of the ousted Syrian president, appeared in a short video on Wednesday, after publishing details of his family's final moments leaving Syria in December 2024.

In it, he confirmed his ownership of two accounts on the platforms “X and Telegram”. Hafez al-Assad said in the video: There was a question about the two accounts on “Telegram and X”, which are mine and I do not own any other.

A few days ago, the son of the deposed president published on a verified account on the “X” platform, bearing the name Hafez Bashar al-Assad, a story with a series of events about the details of the last moments of the family’s escape to Moscow, before deleting the account shortly after publishing.

In a series of tweets, Assad's son recounted what happened: "There was no plan, not even a backup, to leave Damascus, let alone Syria," stressing that all the events were natural.

He pointed out that Russian President Vladimir Putin gave direct orders to arrange an immediate evacuation of the ruling Assad family in Syria, on the night of the fall of the regime on December 8.
