The Gaza Civil Defense recovered about 300 martyrs from east of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, today, Tuesday, after the occupation army withdrew. It left horrific scenes and widespread destruction in neighborhoods, residential areas, and infrastructure.
The Gaza Civil Defense announced that about 300 martyrs had been recovered since the beginning of the Israeli ground invasion of the eastern areas of Khan Yunis Governorate on the twenty-second of this month, stressing that a large part of the bodies of the martyrs were decomposed, and that its crews were still searching for missing persons.
The Civil Defense said that the occupation forces bombed 31 inhabited homes. Since the morning hours, dozens of Palestinians have begun returning to their homes east of Khan Yunis, from which they were displaced when the operation began on July 22.
While the Israeli withdrawal revealed major destruction to the cemetery of the town of Bani Suhaila, east of the governorate, which was called by military vehicles, while eyewitnesses said that some graves were exhumed.
The occupation aircraft launched a raid in the vicinity of the tents of the displaced in the Hamad Towers residential area in Khan Yunis, and on a house belonging to the Al-Masry family in the vicinity of the Tahlia Junction in the city.
While the occupation artillery fired heavy shells in the vicinity of Al Awda schools, which shelter displaced people east of the city, and occupation helicopters fired on citizens’ homes in the new town of Abasan, east of the city of Khan Yunis.
At dawn on Tuesday, the Civil Defense Service said in a statement that its crews recovered the body of a Palestinian woman and six injured people as a result of the bombing of a residential apartment belonging to the “Abu Shawish” family, north of Khan Yu.
The policy of extermination and destruction
For its part, the Hamas movement said that what was revealed by the Israeli occupation army’s withdrawal from the areas east of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, “were horrific scenes of widespread destruction that swept through neighborhoods, residential squares, and infrastructure, and the Palestinian Civil Defense’s recovery of nearly 300 bodies of defenseless civilian martyrs.”
The statement added that the martyrs "were killed by the occupation in cold blood; it confirms the policy of extermination, destruction, and execution of civilian life, pursued by the Zionist fascist government, as the goal of this brutal war of revenge against our people in the Gaza Strip."
She pointed out, “The silence of the Arab system, and the international system’s reluctance to take effective measures to stop the occupation’s crimes and hold its Nazi leaders accountable, encouraged the occupation to commit more brutal crimes that threaten regional and international peace and security,” calling on Arab and Islamic countries and the United Nations to “leave the box of silence and observation, and to Bear its political and legal responsibilities in stopping the crimes of the occupation and holding its leaders accountable for their violations that shame humanity.”
With American support, Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza since October 7, leaving more than 130,000 Palestinians martyred and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and deadly famine.
