Warnings were issued on Thursday that famine is looming again in Gaza as food stocks begin to run out. A UN organization said that the remaining food aid is only enough for two weeks, while the Israeli Supreme Court unanimously rejected petitions demanding that aid be allowed in.

UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini confirmed that no humanitarian aid has entered Gaza for more than three weeks, stressing that this is the longest period the Strip has been without supplies since the war began.

Lazzarini added that parents cannot find food for their children, and patients are without medicine, while hunger is increasing, the threat of disease looms, and Israeli bombing continues.

According to Lazzarini, more than 140,000 people were forced to flee due to evacuation orders issued by the Israeli military.

The UNRWA Commissioner-General called on Israel to lift the blockade and reopen the crossings to allow for the regular flow of humanitarian aid and commercial supplies, stressing the need to halt the bombing, release all prisoners, and renew the ceasefire.

Food stocks are not enough for two weeks.

For its part, the United Nations World Food Programme warned that its remaining food aid supplies in Gaza are only sufficient for two weeks, as hunger threatens the Strip once again with the resumption of Israeli military operations.

The UN program said in a statement Thursday that it only has "approximately 5,700 tons of food stock in Gaza," allowing it to distribute food parcels, flour, and hot meals "for a maximum of two weeks."

On the 18th, the Israeli army resumed its devastating bombardment of the Gaza Strip and then its ground operations, two months after the ceasefire agreement was concluded in Gaza.
