Brutal crimes in Gaza... UN: Israel's actions show callous disregard for human life
Gaza| 28 March, 2025 - 6:40 PM

Stéphane Dujarric, spokesman for UN Secretary-General António Guterres, said the UN "has made a difficult decision to reduce its presence in Gaza, even as humanitarian needs increase." He emphasized that the UN "will not leave Gaza," but did not provide details on the impact of this decision.
The occupation's resumption of its war has resulted in the martyrdom of 855 citizens and the injury of 1,869 others as of Thursday, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza. This brings the death toll from the Israeli war on the Strip since October 7, 2023, to 50,208 martyrs and 113,910 injured.
Dujarric said on Thursday that the ongoing Israeli airstrikes, "evacuation orders," and continued withholding of humanitarian aid have exacerbated the situation in the Strip. He added, "Everything in Gaza is running out: time, life, materials—everything is running out."
Pointing out that the resumption of Israeli attacks on Gaza has displaced 142,000 people, and that "evacuation orders" have covered 17% of the Strip, he stated that Israel is not allowing UN humanitarian aid to pass through and is constantly placing obstacles to prevent it from reaching those in need.
