The Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), revealed on Friday the names of 3 Israeli prisoners who will be released tomorrow, Saturday, as part of the exchange deal within the framework of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, which went into effect on January 19.

The military spokesman for the Al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Obeida, said in a statement, "Within the framework of the Al-Aqsa Flood prisoner exchange deal, the Al-Qassam Brigades decided to release the following Zionist prisoners tomorrow, Saturday: Eliyahu Datsun Yosef Sharabi, Or Abraham Lisha Levi, and Ohad Ben Ami," without further details.

For its part, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported that the Israeli negotiating delegation will leave tomorrow, Saturday, for the Qatari capital, Doha, after the release of the new batch of prisoners.

The Hebrew website "Walla" reported that the families of the Israeli prisoners were informed that the negotiating delegation will head to Doha after the prisoners' release process is completed.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the second phase of the Gaza deal would be more complicated, but expressed optimism that it could be achieved.

He added, in an interview with Israel's Channel 14, that his goal is to release all Israeli prisoners, whether alive or dead, in Gaza.

Meanwhile, the Israeli Prisoners' Families Authority in Gaza called on Netanyahu to complete the exchange deal to ensure the release of all prisoners.

In its weekly statement, the Commission called for sending a negotiating delegation to Qatar with a clear mandate to achieve the return of prisoners, “whether the living for rehabilitation or the deceased for a dignified burial.”

The Commission confirmed that 79 prisoners are still being held in harsh conditions, stressing the need for immediate action to complete the deal.

Upon completion of the delivery of this fifth batch, Al-Qassam will have handed over 16 Israeli prisoners as part of the current exchange deal, which includes the release of Palestinian prisoners in exchange for the release of Israeli detainees.

According to Palestinian human rights organizations, Israel detains more than 10,000 Palestinians in its prisons, including about 600 sentenced to life imprisonment.

In the first phase of the agreement, which consists of three stages, each lasting 42 days, the terms stipulate the gradual release of 33 Israelis held in Gaza, whether alive or dead, in exchange for a number of Palestinian and Arab detainees estimated between 1,700 and 2,000.

The occupation is procrastinating

In return, Hamas confirmed its commitment to implementing the ceasefire agreement in a way that achieves the interests of the Palestinians.

The movement also accused the occupation of procrastinating in implementing the humanitarian protocol, especially with regard to providing shelter, tents, rubble removal equipment, fuel and restoration requirements. It stressed that it called on the mediators to redouble their efforts to pressure the occupation and oblige it to implement the agreement.

The movement stressed the unity of the Palestinian position in the face of the "Trump-Netanyahu project" to displace the Palestinians, stressing that the American plan is met with Arab, Islamic and international rejection.

Trump: We will return all prisoners

In Washington, US President Donald Trump said he "will not rest until all the hostages are released," noting that what he described as "the prestige he has restored to his country" was a key factor in reaching a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.

US House Speaker Mike Johnson said that Trump and Netanyahu realize that "peace can only be achieved through strength," as he put it.

During a joint press conference with Netanyahu, Johnson thanked the latter for what he described as his commitment to "making the Middle East and the world safer."

For his part, Netanyahu said that he discussed with Trump "ways to completely eliminate Hamas and prevent Iran from possessing a nuclear weapon," adding that there is no future for peace in the Middle East as long as Hamas controls the Gaza Strip, he said.

With American support, between October 7, 2023 and January 19, 2025, Israel committed genocide in Gaza, leaving more than 159,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 14,000 missing, and one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world.
