The presidency of Ibb University, which is under the control of the Houthi militia, has begun procedures to dismiss professors, academics, and employees who were displaced outside the governorate due to being persecuted by the militia or those who left the governorate after salaries were cut off.
Academic sources said that the university president, Nasr Al-Hajili, who was appointed by the Houthis, requested - in a memorandum - the deans of colleges and centers at Ibb University to "report all absentees and those not present at work from among the faculty members and their assistants."
Al-Hajili attributed this procedure, in reference to Circular No. 5 of 1446 AH, issued by the Ministry of Civil Service in the Houthi militia government - which is not recognized - regarding "cleaning the salary list of all absentees, doubles, and other functional irregularities.
According to academic sources, the university president's directives are to remove employees from the payroll and dismiss them.
