Sana'a: Yemen Youth Net
Identical sources reported the deterioration of the health of the kidnapped "Ismail Al-Batinah" in the prisons of the terrorist Houthi militia in the capital, Sana'a, northern Yemen.
Released abductees and those close to Al-Batinah said that his health had seriously deteriorated about a month ago, inside the Central Security Camp prison in Sana'a, as a result of systematic torture and deliberate medical neglect.
The sources added that Al-Batinah, who has been kidnapped since October 2017, suffers from serious illnesses, and the prison administration, which is supervised by Abdul Qader Al-Murtada, who is subject to US sanctions, refuses to provide him with the necessary medical care.
Those close to Al-Batinah and his former comrades held Al-Murtada fully responsible for his life and safety, and called on human rights organizations, media professionals, and all free people to adopt his case and pressure him to be saved and to save all the abductees who are being neglected and tortured in Houthi prisons.
On December 9, the US Treasury Department announced sanctions on the Houthi Prisoners Committee and its chairman, Abdul Qader al-Murtada, for their involvement in violations against prisoners held in Houthi-run prisons in Yemen.
The US Embassy in Yemen, in its explanation of the sanctions, said that Al-Murtada, through his role as head of the National Committee for Prisoners’ Affairs, has been directly involved in the torture of prisoners and other forms of cruel, inhuman, and degrading treatment or punishment of detainees in Houthi prisons that continue to hold individuals who have exercised their human rights and fundamental freedoms, including journalists, human rights defenders, political opponents, local staff of the United Nations, non-governmental organizations, and the US Embassy, in addition to others.
