Gaza: 5 Palestinian journalists killed in Israeli shelling targeting a broadcast vehicle in Nuseirat camp
Gaza| 26 December, 2024 - 8:51 AM

Five Palestinian journalists were killed early Thursday morning, as a result of an Israeli bombardment that targeted a broadcast vehicle in front of Al-Awda Hospital in the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip.
A medical source told the Anadolu Agency correspondent that "an Israeli plane bombed a broadcast vehicle located in front of the southern gate of Al-Awda Hospital, killing 5 journalists who were inside it and setting it on fire."
The source added that "the bodies of the martyred journalists were pulled out from inside the burning car and were charred."
He said, "The Israeli raid caused panic among patients, the wounded, and medical staff inside the hospital."
For its part, the Government Media Office in Gaza said in a statement that "the number of martyred journalists has risen to 201 male and female journalists since the beginning of the genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, after the martyrdom of a group of fellow journalists working for Al-Quds Al-Youm satellite channel."
He explained that "the martyred journalists are: Faisal Abu Al-Qumsan, a journalist, Ayman Al-Jadi, a photojournalist, Ibrahim Al-Sheikh Ali, Muhammad Al-Lad'ah, and Fadi Hassouna, all three of whom work as journalists for the channel."
He condemned "the Israeli occupation's targeting, killing and assassination of Palestinian journalists."
The media office called on the International Federation of Journalists, the Arab Journalists Union and all journalistic bodies in the world to "condemn these systematic crimes against Palestinian journalists and media professionals in the Gaza Strip."
He held "the Israeli occupation, the US administration, and the countries participating in the crime of genocide, such as the United Kingdom, Germany, and France, fully responsible for committing this heinous, brutal crime."
He called on the international community, international organizations, and organizations related to journalistic and media work in all countries of the world to “condemn the crimes of the occupation, deter it, and prosecute it in international courts for its ongoing crimes, and bring the criminals of the occupation to justice.”
With American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving more than 153,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing, amid massive destruction and famine that killed dozens of children and the elderly, in one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world.
Israel continues its massacres, ignoring two arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court on November 21 against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant, for committing war crimes and crimes against humanity against Palestinians in Gaza.
