On the 451st day of the aggression on Gaza, the Israeli occupation army intensified its artillery shelling of various areas in the Strip, leaving martyrs and wounded. This coincides with the resistance factions launching new operations against the occupation soldiers and their military vehicles.
The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced that the death toll from the genocide committed by Israel against the Palestinian people has risen to 45,541 martyrs and 108,338 wounded since October 7, 2023.
The ministry said in its daily statistical statement that the Israeli occupation army committed 3 massacres against families in the Gaza Strip, resulting in 27 martyrs and 149 injuries arriving at hospitals during the past 24 hours.
The ministry indicated that there are victims under the rubble of destroyed houses and on the roads, but civil defense and ambulance crews are unable to reach them due to the repeated Israeli targeting of them.
In a related context, 4 Palestinians were killed in an Israeli bombardment of Jabalia al-Balad, north of the Gaza Strip, while Israeli artillery shelling continued on large areas north of the Gaza Strip.
In Gaza City, Al Jazeera quoted its correspondent as saying that the occupation artillery targeted the Al-Zeitoun neighborhood, south of the city, and also fired a missile at displaced persons who left the center of Jabalia camp towards Gaza City.
Humanitarian situation
In addition to the bombing and destruction, the Government Media Office in Gaza reported that the number of deaths due to the severe cold and frost waves had risen to 7 among the displaced whose homes were destroyed by the occupation, adding that the number is likely to increase due to the tragic circumstances.
For its part, the Gaza Municipality said that thousands of displaced Palestinians are living in tragic conditions due to the repercussions of the low pressure system that is hitting the Strip, accompanied by heavy rains and storms, in light of the lack of capabilities and alternative shelters.
Gaza Municipality spokesman Asem Al-Nabih said that the displaced people are suffering from very tragic conditions, as rainwater flooded their tents, adding that the rainwater drainage and sewage operations are almost complicated due to the massive damage to the sewage networks and the rain.
He revealed that the damage included all sewage stations and pumps, and affected 175,000 meters of sewage networks and 15,000 meters of rainwater drainage networks in Gaza City.
Al-Nabi called on international organizations to intervene to alleviate the suffering of the people of Gaza and provide the minimum services under these difficult circumstances.
"Children in Gaza are cold and sick, and many are wearing summer clothes," the New York Times quoted a spokeswoman for the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) as saying.
Complex operation of Qassam
On the ground, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas", announced that its fighters were able, within the framework of a complex operation, to storm a newly established military point established by the occupation army in the Jabalia camp in the northern Gaza Strip and killed 5 soldiers at point-blank range.
Al-Qassam added in a statement issued today, Monday, that its fighters burned a Zionist Merkava tank and its crew during the operation, and targeted a military jeep containing a number of soldiers with hand grenades, killing and wounding them.
In another operation, Al-Qassam said that its fighters destroyed an Israeli troop carrier in Beit Hanoun, northeast of Gaza, with a "Yassin 105" shell, killing and wounding its crew.
In contrast, the occupation admitted that a soldier was killed and 7 others were injured, including 3 with "serious" injuries, as a result of targeting a house in which they were holed up in the town of Beit Hanoun, north of the Gaza Strip, with an anti-tank missile, according to an official statement and Hebrew media.
