Harsh winter for the displaced in Gaza.. Tents that do not protect against the cold or the rain

Under fire
Subuh was displaced with his family a few weeks ago from the town of Beit Lahia under the pressure of Israeli bombardment, and found himself in a tent that did not protect him from the cold of winter or the rain, amid harsh living conditions in Gaza City inside a football stadium.
"The cold has exhausted us. I hope they help us with a suitable tent. The conditions are very difficult. We have given up on life," Subh told Anadolu Agency.
He added: "Our life has become miserable. We live in tents that lack the most basic necessities of life, and even clothes are not enough for us."
Sobh appealed to the world, saying: “Look at our situation, stop this war, we are suffering from a severe shortage of food, water and medicine, and no one cares about our suffering.”
On October 5, the Israeli army invaded the northern Gaza Strip. The Palestinians say that Israel wants to occupy the area and turn it into a buffer zone after displacing them from it under the pressure of bloody bombing and preventing the entry of food, water and medicine.
As a result of this operation, tens of thousands of Palestinians from the northern Gaza Strip were forcibly displaced towards Gaza City, where most of them resided in tents and shelters.
The Israeli army did not allow the displaced to carry their belongings during the displacement, which made their life inside the tents and shelters extremely difficult, and lacking the most basic necessities of human life.
homeless suffering
Sobh is considered one of the lucky ones who was provided with a tent to shelter him, unlike the Palestinian Manal Abu Rabie, who was forcibly displaced from the town of Beit Lahia, where she lives in the open, sleeping on the ground under the open sky, without any cover or shelter.
Abu Rabie told Anadolu Agency: “We left the schools that were sheltering us in Beit Lahia under the bombing, and no one paid attention to us. We had no mattress, no food, and no drink.”
She added: "We sleep on the ground without mattresses or tents. We hope to get a tent to protect us and cover our situation."
She explains that she sits with her children in one of the streets without any necessities of life, amidst low temperatures and occasional rain.
For weeks, the Gaza Strip has been witnessing a drop in temperatures and rainfall, which has exacerbated the suffering of the displaced who were forced to leave their homes in search of safety.
During their displacement, Palestinians are forced to seek refuge in schools or the homes of their relatives or acquaintances. Some set up tents in the streets, schools, or other places such as prisons and amusement parks, under difficult humanitarian conditions where there is no sufficient water or food, and diseases spread.
According to the government media office, the number of displaced people inside the Strip since the beginning of the Israeli genocide has reached two million people out of a total of 2.3 million Palestinians in it.
With American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving more than 151,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing, amid massive destruction and famine that killed dozens of children and the elderly, in one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world.
Israel continues its massacres, ignoring two arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court on November 21 against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant, for committing war crimes and crimes against humanity against Palestinians in Gaza.
