Watch.. "Al-Qassam" broadcasts a video of special operations against Israeli forces and vehicles in Jabalia

The Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), broadcasted today, Sunday, scenes of its fighters confronting the Israeli occupation army and its vehicles in the axes of the incursion in the northern Gaza Strip, and sent messages through its field commanders full of defiance.

The new Qassam video was called “Ambushes of Steadfastness and Challenge,” and included direct operations against Israeli forces and vehicles in the Jabalia camp.

The operations included targeting an Israeli Merkava tank in the Al-Daqaa neighborhood in Jabalia camp with an anti-tank shell, in addition to targeting an Israeli personnel carrier in Al-Khulafa Al-Rashidin Square.

The footage showed an Israeli soldier being sniped in Abu Al-Aish Street in central Jabalia, and being directly hit, causing him to fall to the ground. In addition, a landmine was detonated against a number of Israeli soldiers.

At the beginning of the video, one of the Qassam field commanders stressed the need to differentiate between the Jews who lived with the Muslims for thousands of years and those who are currently fighting them in the name of the Jews. He said, “The Jews have lived among us for thousands of years, honored and respected.”

He continued, addressing those who have been waging war on Gaza for more than 14 months, "You are a group of criminal occupiers, coming to your deaths and graves, you killers of women and children," threatening the occupation soldiers with "a cruel death."

In turn, another Qassam fighter said that the military brigades that the occupation army sent into the northern Gaza Strip did not achieve any goals other than killing civilians and destroying residential buildings, stressing that the Israeli soldiers were no less than 200 meters away from them.

Al-Qassam concluded the footage by targeting a house near Jabalia al-Balad, where an Israeli special force was entrenched, with an anti-fortification shell.

On October 6, the occupation army announced the start of a new military operation in Jabalia under the pretext of "preventing Hamas from regaining its strength in the area."

Israeli media described the fighting in Jabalia and Beit Lahia camps in the northern Gaza Strip as "harmful and difficult," while Channel 13 estimated that the ground operation in northern Gaza, which began early October, would continue for several more weeks.

The Al-Qassam Brigades in Gaza have been documenting their operations against the occupation army forces and their vehicles on various combat fronts since the start of the Israeli ground operation on October 27, 2023, such as scenes of bombing and targeting Israeli military vehicles with explosive devices and anti-tank shells.

Al-Qassam also set up successful ambushes against the occupation army, inflicting heavy human losses on it, in addition to destroying and damaging hundreds of military vehicles.

Diversity in the combat tools of Qassam

Retired military expert Colonel Hatem Karim Al-Falahi said that the new video published by the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), confirms that the resistance operations are planned and not random, and shows the ferocity of the ground battles.

According to Al-Falahi's statement to Al Jazeera, the new Qassam operations indicate that they were carried out in places where there are Israeli forces and vehicles, using various means, and are not concentrated in one area.

The military expert pointed out the diversity of combat methods used in the operations, such as the "Yassin 105" anti-tank shell, in addition to the use of a "TPG" shell to target an Israeli force entrenched in a house.

This diversity, according to Al-Falahi, indicates the capabilities and tactics used by Al-Qassam, as the weapon used to strike a target in battle is determined “based on the capabilities and potentials possessed by the resistance, and then an alternative is sought if it is not available.”

The military expert believes that the successive operations carried out by the resistance in the northern Gaza Strip, despite the passage of more than 77 days since the launch of the Israeli ground operation, confirm that the occupation has failed to impose control over the region, and demonstrates the ferocity of the ground battles.

According to Al-Falahi, the resistance’s implementation of special qualitative operations in the northern region of Jabalia is due to the nature of the geographical area, the field experience gained by the resistance, and the exhaustion that afflicted the occupation army, which led to an increase in the bill for its human and material losses.

Regarding the messages sent by the Qassam fighters in the video, the military expert believes that the Israeli operations do not have military objectives but rather political ones, which explains the use of lethal weapons to kill civilians and destroy residential neighborhoods.

According to Al-Falahi, the resistance introduced new combat methods into the battle, such as knives and martyrdom operations, and he said that it was “a choice and a necessity at the same time.”

He concluded that the multiplicity of means and the diversity of tactics give another dimension to resistance operations "so that the occupation army does not know the approach of the fighters," stressing that the capabilities are available, but their use varies according to the nature of the region and the objectives.
