A citizen drowned while trying to save his son from drowning, today, Saturday, on one of the coasts of Socotra Island, located in the Indian Ocean off the coast of the Horn of Africa.
A local source told "Yemeni Youth Net" that the citizen "Mamoun Abdullah Noman Al-Sharai" died today by drowning in the Samarhar area in Qalansiyah District.
The source explained that the father rushed to the sea to try to save his son, but the waves took him to the depths, and he lost control, and died at sea.
He pointed out that two young men present were able to save the son and transfer him to Qalansiya Hospital for treatment.
Al-Sharaabi is the founder of the first English language institute in Socotra, in addition to owning a private school, and he works in trade, according to the same source.
