UAE forces released two people on Thursday evening, a day after they were kidnapped from their home in the As-Saeed District of Shabwa Governorate, southeast of Yemen, following tribal escalation and threats to close the road to coalition vehicles.

A tribal source told "Yemeni Youth Net" that the forces affiliated with the UAE in the Manshiyat Balhaf camp released this evening the two young men (Issa and Haroun), the sons of the citizen "Haider Ladhil Al-Qash'ouri."

The source explained that the house raid and the kidnapping of the two young men was a mistake (and it is not the first incident of this kind).

Yesterday morning, Wednesday, soldiers from the UAE camp in Balhaf facility stormed the home of the citizen "Al-Qash'ouri" in the village of Basfaq in Radhum District, and ransacked its contents and terrorized the women and children, before kidnapping two of his sons and taking them to Balhaf camp.

In response, armed men from the Qasha'ir tribe set up an armed point near the Balhaf facility, threatening to close the line and prevent the passage of military vehicles, demanding the immediate release of the kidnapped, the prosecution of the attackers, and the restoration of the tribe's reputation.

In a similar incident, late last November, members of the Second Shabwa Defense Brigade raided the home of Captain Salem Khamis Mahran, the Director of Control and Inspection at the Civil Status Office in Shabwa Governorate, and clashes broke out between them. At the time, local sources said that the raid was the result of a mistake by the soldiers in identifying the home of a wanted individual.

Citizens in Shabwa directorates have been complaining about the practices and violations of the military and security formations affiliated with the Transitional Council, on an ongoing basis, since those factions took control of the governorate in August 2022.
