Customs Authority announces the seizure of smuggled surveillance devices and medicines in the free zone and Aden airport

The Yemeni Customs Authority announced, on Monday, the seizure of 11 devices used in the field of defense and security in the free zone in Aden and 11 types of various smuggled medicines at Aden International Airport.

The Yemeni News Agency "Saba" reported, quoting a responsible source in the Customs Authority, that the employees of the Aden Free Zone Customs seized 10 receivers for ships, in addition to a device for monitoring the wireless spectrum and detecting signals.

The source explained that these devices have uses in the field of defense and security, through analyzing radar signals, supporting operations to identify sources of interference and penetration, testing aircraft communication systems, analyzing navigation signals, and other uses.

He also explained that Aden Airport Customs employees seized 11 types of various smuggled medicines that did not have any official permits, stressing that the strategic devices and smuggled medicines were seized.

He pointed out that this comes in implementation of the Customs Law and applicable laws, and in compliance with the regulations and circulars issued by the relevant authorities regarding imported and exported goods.

The source reiterated that customs officers will not tolerate any attempts to bring any goods that do not meet official requirements into the country.
