A detainee died in a prison affiliated with the UAE-backed Transitional Council forces in Aden Governorate (southern Yemen), after his health deteriorated.
Sources from the victim's family said that the young man (Ibrahim Muhammad Mandouq) died on Saturday in the central prison in Mansoura District, Aden, after his health deteriorated due to his suffering from heart disease.
The sources added that Mandouq, who was arrested in June 2024 by the Third Support and Reinforcement Brigade forces led by Nabil Al-Mashoushi, remained in the brigade’s prison for a period before they transferred him to the central prison in Mansoura due to the deterioration of his health.
The victim was arrested in the context of the armed clash that broke out in mid-June last year in the Bir Ahmed area of Al-Buraiqa Directorate, between members of the Third Support and Reinforcement Brigade and relatives of the girl who was assaulted by members of the brigade, during which Nabil Al-Mashoushi’s nephew was killed.
