The International Organization for Migration announced, on Monday, the displacement of 36 Yemeni families during the past week from several governorates for economic and security reasons.
The organization said in its weekly report that its displacement tracking matrix monitored the displacement of 36 families (216 individuals) during the period from February 9 to 15.
She explained that the majority of displacement cases originated from Al Bayda, Hajjah, Taiz and Sana'a, and settled in Marib (24 families), Hodeidah (7 families) and Taiz (5 families).
The organization stated that security concerns and threats were the main reason behind 19 families leaving their original areas, representing 53% of the total new displacement cases, while economic conditions related to the conflict forced 17 families, representing 47%, to be displaced.
She noted that 39% of the families displaced during the past week need shelter services, 28% need food, 22% need financial support, 8% need non-food items, and 3% need livelihoods.
The organization indicated that the total number of displaced families from January 1 to February 15, 2025 AD amounted to 277 families (1,662 individuals).
