Marib: Local mediation halts tribal clashes that left dead and wounded

Tribal mediation succeeded last night in halting bloody clashes between two tribes in Al Wadi District, Ma'rib Governorate (eastern Yemen), which left dead and wounded.

Local sources told Yemen Youth Net that mediation led by tribesmen had succeeded in halting the clashes between gunmen from the Al-Hidhailan and Al-Mashaal tribes on the one hand, and the Al-Damasqah tribe on the other.

The sources added that the clashes, which erupted as a result of tribal revenge, came after gunmen from Damascus were shot by others from the Al-Mashaal family before sunset on Wednesday, leading to the death of Salem Saleh Al-Ba'a and the injury of Fayez Oushan.

According to sources, the killing of Al-Ba'aa and the injury of his companion sparked clashes between the two sides, which also left three Damascenes dead and others injured, before mediation succeeded in halting the fighting.
