The Masam Project for Mine Clearance in Yemen announced that its field teams were able to remove 1,579 landmines, unexploded ordnance, and explosive devices during the past week.
The project said in a statement on its media center that demining teams removed 1,579 explosive materials last week (September 28 - October 4), including 1,442 unexploded ordnance, 126 anti-tank mines, 6 explosive devices, and 5 anti-personnel mines.
The statement said that the project's demining teams cleared 240,575 square metres of Yemeni land during the period.
He pointed out that the total number of mines, unexploded ordnance and explosive devices removed and destroyed since the start of the project in June 2018 until now has reached 463,673 in the liberated areas of Yemen.
