The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning expects continued rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms on the mountain highlands, the western coasts, and the interior plateaus during the coming days.
The Center explained, in a statement issued by it, that the heavy rains that affected most regions of our country were caused by the deepening of the Indian monsoon depression and the presence of the eastern jet stream in the upper layers of the atmosphere.
He confirmed that the positioning of the Intertropical Belt (ITCZ) contributed to the formation of dense cumulus clouds and heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms on the western coastal strip, the Tihama Plain, and the mountain highlands adjacent to it during the past days.
The Center called on the relevant official authorities in the country to take the necessary measures and measures to protect lives and property.
He called on the media not to circulate any baseless information and to rely on information issued by the Centre.
During the past hours, the variable rainy climate struck the governorates of Hodeidah and Hajjah, and the coastal districts of Taiz governorate, causing major losses in lives and property.
