The director of Sana'a International Airport, appointed by the Houthis, admitted that the luggage of passengers on yesterday's flight to Jordan did not arrive with their owners.
Khaled Al-Shaif said that the pilot deliberately decided to leave some passengers' bags at Sana'a International Airport, claiming that the plane's load was heavier than the international standard.
Al-Shaif's statements came hours after Yemeni passengers revealed that their bags were lost, and that the plane that took them from Sana'a informed them that they had been deliberately left behind.
Several sources at Sana'a International Airport said that the real reason was due to the lack of aircraft fuel available at Sana'a Airport after the destruction of fuel tanks in Hodeidah at the end of last month, and the aircraft crew was forced to reduce weight and leave bags in consideration of the remaining fuel for the flight.
The Houthis launched a large-scale attack on Yemenia, including hijacking four planes a month ago, detaining them in Sana'a, and seizing more than $120 million of their revenues. Last July, they pledged to control and manage them completely from Sana'a airport.
