Scouting shows for students of Houthi summer centers in Ibb - Houthi media
The terrorist Houthi militia launched campaigns to attract students from schools in the city of Ibb (central Yemen) for its summer camps, which it intends to launch during the upcoming summer vacation.
Educational sources and parents told Yemen Youth Net that the Houthi militia in the districts of Dhahar and Al-Mashnah (the governorate center) has begun recruiting students from transfer classes in the primary and secondary stages to register for its upcoming summer camps.
The sources added that Houthi elements and others linked to them are active in government schools in the governorate center, coinciding with the launch of the final exams, and are offering students offers to pass the exams in exchange for enrolling in summer camps.
The sources indicated that the Houthi movements were met with great condemnation in educational circles and parents’ councils, who warned of the negative impact of this on the students’ performance and consequently the educational process, which is already witnessing a terrible deterioration.
The sources warned of students being influenced by Houthi propaganda, dropping out of school, and registering in summer camps, which turns them into fuel for the war that the militia seeks to reignite on all battlefronts.
Yesterday, Sunday, the Yemeni government called on UNICEF to take a firm stance against the violations of the terrorist Houthi militia against children, in light of its continued recruitment and sectarian mobilization operations through summer camps.
On the occasion of the International Day Against the Exploitation of Child Soldiers, which falls on February 12 of each year, the Mayun Human Rights Organization revealed that the Houthi militia is using 700 public and private schools in areas under its control as centers for recruiting children and training them on light and medium weapons, under the direct supervision of the Ministries of Defense and Education in the unrecognized Houthi government.
