Smart ID Card
On Saturday, the Yemeni Ministry of Interior directed the general managers of government and private banks and the general managers of government and private commercial and service institutions to adopt the new smart personal card for all official, commercial and service transactions.
The ministry referred in a statement published on its website to the minister’s directives, which include the mandatory adoption of the new personal card (smart card) in all financial and non-financial transactions and the final cessation of dealing with the previous card.
The Ministry of Interior called on everyone to adhere to the provisions of the directive, as violating these directives is considered a violation of the system and the law and will expose the violating parties to legal accountability, and penalties will be imposed on these parties, which may reach their closure and suspension from work.
It is noteworthy that this card is available only in areas of the internationally recognized government, and the ministry began launching it last year.
