Thunderstorms expected and warnings against being in valleys and flood paths

The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning warned citizens on Saturday against staying in valleys, amid expectations of thunderstorms during the next 24 hours.

According to the center’s statement, it warned against being in flood paths during and after rainfall, thunderstorms, and poor horizontal visibility on roads and mountain slopes due to dense low clouds and fog formation.

Thunderstorms of varying intensity are expected to fall in parts and regions of several governorates during the next 24 hours.

He pointed out that he expects thunderstorms of varying intensity to fall on the plains and coasts of Tihama and parts of the governorates of Lahj, Al Dhale, Taiz, Ibb, Raymah, Al Mahwit, Hajjah and Saada.

Scattered rain is also expected in areas of the governorates of Amran, Sana'a, Dhamar and Aden, and may extend eastward to include the highlands of Abyan and Shabwa, parts of the eastern coasts and the Socotra Archipelago.
