Meteorology expects rain of varying intensity in several governorates in the coming hours

The National Center of Meteorology expected, on Saturday, thunderstorms of varying intensity to fall on several Yemeni governorates during the next 24 hours.

The center said in its weather bulletin that it expects rain of varying intensity, sometimes accompanied by thunder, in the governorates of Lahj, Taiz, Ibb, Al Dhale, Raymah, Sana'a, Al Mahwit, Dhamar, Sa'dah, the highlands of Tihama, Hadhramaut, Shabwa, and Abyan.

He stressed that the desert areas will witness clear to partly cloudy weather, with cumulonimbus clouds forming over parts of them, and moderate-speed winds that will sometimes be active, stirring up dust and sand.

He warned citizens in areas where rain is expected to fall from staying in valleys and flood channels, and urged drivers on mountain roads to avoid low horizontal visibility due to dense low clouds, fog or rainfall.

He also warned seafarers and fishermen on the southern coasts, Bab al-Mandab Strait and the southern Red Sea of rough seas and high waves.
