UN report: 6,364 African migrants arrived in Yemen last October

A recent UN report revealed that 6,364 African migrants arrived in Yemen during last October.
The International Organization for Migration said in its monthly report that its tracking matrix recorded the entry of 6,364 migrants into Yemen last October, an increase of 136% over the total number reported in the previous month, in which 2,692 migrants entered.
The report indicated that the majority of migrants arriving in Yemen are Ethiopians; 79% of migrants entered the coasts of Taiz Governorate on the western coast of Yemen via Djibouti, while 21% arrived on the coasts of Shabwa coming from the coasts of Somalia.
Men represented 58% of the total number of immigrants, compared to 25% of children and 17% of women.
According to UN statistics, the total number of African migrants to Yemen during the first ten months of this year rose to 22,427 migrants.
