The US Central Command confirmed on Tuesday that the terrorist Houthi militias had seized food stocks belonging to the World Food Programme in Saada Governorate, northern Yemen.
"On March 15, the Houthi militia in Saada Governorate began seizing WFP food stocks from its warehouse in Saada," the US command said in a statement on the X platform.
The statement added that this warehouse contains more than 2.5 million kilograms (5,700,000 pounds) of goods intended for Yemeni civilians.
The US military warned that this illegal seizure of WFP aid will further hinder the delivery of essential humanitarian aid to the Yemeni people.
"This is yet another example of the Houthis' complete and irresponsible disregard for the suffering of the Yemeni people, and their continued aggression against humanitarian operations aimed at assisting those in need," he said.
