Today, Tuesday, the Minister of Education, Tariq Al-Akbari, called for adopting the national strategy for out-of-school children and benefiting from it, in cooperation with all partners.
This came during the workshop organized by the Ministry today, in the interim capital, Aden, in partnership with UNICEF, on the national strategy for out-of-school children in Yemen, with funding from Japan and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).
According to Saba News Agency, the Minister of Education stressed the importance of this strategy related to out-of-school children in our country, considering that education is a national and moral responsibility.
He pointed out that through this strategy, the Ministry seeks to develop appropriate recommendations and treatments that will help children re-enter school in the short and long term.
Minister Al-Akbari praised the efforts of the Ministry’s team of technical and supervisory committees in completing a study on the situation of children out of school and preparing this strategy, with the participation of an elite group of academic leaders and experts.
At the same time, he appreciated the support of UNICEF for the education sector, and the funding agencies of the Japanese government and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency.
In turn, the Acting Director of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) office in Aden, Nasser Qaddoura, indicated that the preparation of this strategy included ten directorates in a number of governorates.
He appreciated the role of the Ministry of Education in preparing this strategy, which will contribute to addressing the situation of children out of school in a systematic and scientific manner.
