Amman: Yemen Youth Net

The mother of activist "Rabab Al-Madwahi", who has been hidden in the prisons of the terrorist Houthi militia since last June, passed away early this morning, affected by the shock and consequences of her daughter's kidnapping and her mysterious fate.
Identical human rights sources said that the mother of activist Rabab Al-Madwahi, an employee at the National Democratic Institute ( NDI ), passed away in the Jordanian capital, Amman, where she was receiving treatment in intensive care after her health condition suddenly deteriorated.
The sources indicated that the health condition of Al-Madwahi's mother began to deteriorate since her daughter was kidnapped in early June 2024, in a campaign that included workers in international and local humanitarian organizations and employees of UN agencies.

The Houthi militia has been hiding Al-Madhwahi in an unknown prison since her abduction, amidst the continued ambiguity surrounding her fate, as the militia refuses to reveal her place of detention or her health condition, despite local and international human rights appeals for her release.
The death of Umm Al-Madhwahi comes after two similar cases of mothers who were forced to leave due to grief and sorrow over their children, employees of humanitarian agencies and organizations who were kidnapped by the Houthi militia. The mother of the kidnapped Sara Al-Faeq had previously died, and before her the mother of the kidnapped Murad Dhafer.
For its part, the National Authority for Prisoners and Abductees mourned "with pain and sadness the death of the mother of activist "Rabab Al-Madwahi", who passed away after suffering devastating psychological suffering as a result of her daughter's kidnapping by the Houthi group in June 2024."
The Authority said in its obituary statement, "This human crime is added to a long record of systematic violations against families and civilians by the Houthi group, as the suffering of prisoners and abductees has turned into a tool for psychological torture that is ravaging their families before them."
The Commission called on the international community and human rights organizations to urgently intervene to release activist Rabab Al-Madwahi and all the abductees, hold accountable those responsible for these serious human rights violations, and provide psychological and legal protection to the families of the victims who are paying a heavy price for these practices.
