The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (MASAM) project to clear Yemeni lands of mines announced its success in clearing 51 minefields in Al Dhale’e Governorate, from the end of 2019 until the beginning of 2025.

The center stated in a statement that the "Masam" team, Team 18, was able to remove more than 2,000 anti-personnel mines in Al Dhale' Governorate, in addition to booby-trapped explosive devices and unexploded shells. It pointed out that the team carried out 6 mine destruction operations in areas far from population centers, according to international standards, to ensure the safety of citizens.

He explained that the clearance operations covered an area exceeding 234,379 thousand square meters of land contaminated with mines, including farms, homes, schools and water wells.

It is noteworthy that the "Masam" project continues its operations in all liberated governorates through 33 engineering teams, as some areas still contain mines that pose a threat to the lives of citizens.

The terrorist Houthi militias, supported by the Iranian regime, planted large quantities of mines randomly in a number of governorates, killing and injuring hundreds of innocent people.

According to human rights reports, Houthi mines have killed and injured about ten thousand Yemenis over the past ten years in a number of Yemeni governorates.

The Yemeni government has accused the Houthi militia of planting more than two million mines in a number of Yemeni regions since its coup against the state in September 2014, in a statistic that is the largest since World War II.
