The Presidency of the Yemeni House of Representatives discussed, on Wednesday, the necessary arrangements to resume the convening of the council's sessions, to carry out its legislative and oversight duties in light of the current circumstances in the country.
This came during a meeting held by the Authority in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, headed by the Chairman of the Council, Sheikh Sultan Al-Barkani, and members of the Authority, Engineer Mohammed Al-Shaddadi, and Engineer Mohsen Basra, according to the Yemeni News Agency "Saba".
The agency reported that the meeting reviewed the Authority's agenda and the results of fruitful meetings with President Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, and member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Major General Aidarous Al-Zubaidi.
The meeting also discussed the political, economic, financial, monetary and service situations, the measures required to address these challenges, the preparations and arrangements necessary to resume the Council’s sessions, and the draft agenda for its next session.
The Parliament Presidency stressed the importance of working to strengthen the national consensus that rejects and resists the terrorist Houthi militias, which practice abuses and violations, including the suppression and terrorism against intellectuals, media figures, journalists, activists and citizens who came out to express their celebration of the September 26 Revolution.
She warned of the danger of these practices on the youth in the areas under its control, and the attempt to change identity and belief, and destroy the achievements made by Yemenis since the outbreak of the Yemeni revolution.
The Council's Presidency also discussed developments on the national scene, efforts made to accelerate the implementation of the economic rescue plan, and the importance of combining and integrating the efforts of all authorities with the aim of optimally responding to the various challenges facing the country at this exceptional stage.
She stressed the importance of resuming the Council's sessions to carry out its legislative and oversight duties under the current circumstances, and its keenness to ensure that state institutions perform the tasks assigned to them, unify their efforts, and expedite the search for urgent economic and monetary solutions according to exceptional plans that contribute to improving public services for citizens.
On the other hand, Speaker of the House of Representatives Sheikh Sultan Al-Barkani, along with two members of the House of Representatives Presidency, visited the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, according to the official agency.
Al-Barakani and the members of the Council’s Presidency listened to an explanation from “the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Yemen, Head of the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, Mohammed Al Jaber, about the projects that have been implemented and those to be implemented in various fields and governorates.”
Ambassador Al Jaber stressed that "the Kingdom is an effective partner with its brothers in Yemen, and is carrying out its fraternal duty and will continue to do everything it must in various fields, with full cooperation and joint coordination to serve the Yemeni people in these circumstances."
Al-Barakani, Al-Shaddadi and Basra praised the distinguished roles of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since the beginning of the Yemeni crisis in 2011 until now, and their standing in various circumstances and levels to confront the Houthi rebel movement and overthrow its coup, and preserve the identity of the Yemeni people, their revolution, their republic and their democratic system.
They also expressed their great appreciation and praise for the support provided by the Kingdom in these difficult circumstances to save the Yemeni economy and the government’s work and programs, stressing that the positions of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his Crown Prince will be immortalized by history and preserved by generations, and express the authenticity of the Kingdom and its leadership.
They also pointed out that "the first and last goal is to confront the Iranian mullahs' project and the Houthi project, which are destructive to Yemen and the region," stressing "the importance of the state's institutions uniting and carrying out their national tasks, roles, and constitutional responsibilities on the ground."

It seems that the meeting of the Presidency of the House of Representatives with the Saudi Ambassador to Yemen is linked to the efforts it is making to resume the sessions of the House, which has faced obstacles during the past years.
Yesterday, Tuesday, the Presidency of the House of Representatives met with the member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Major General Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, two days after meeting with the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alimi.
