Prime Minister calls on the European Union to double support and reallocate it according to priorities

Bin Mubarak referred to the European positions that support and continue to support the Yemeni government and people in this exceptional phase, looking forward to doubling support and redirecting it according to priorities in the economic, service, humanitarian and development fields.

He pointed out the importance of building on the results of the international meeting to support the Yemeni government, which was held in New York, and the strong political message of support it provided for the government, its reforms, its vision and its plan for economic recovery.

The Prime Minister reviewed the problems facing the government and its vision for dealing with them, the strong will to continue its steps to implement reforms, combat corruption, achieve economic and service stability, and the support required from Yemen's partners in this regard.

He pointed out the role expected of friends in the European Union to support the government's plan for economic recovery and the five main tracks, in a way that leads to confronting and addressing existing challenges.

The Prime Minister was briefed by the European mission on the results of its meetings and visits to Hadhramaut, reiterating their support for the reforms implemented by the government and its plan for economic recovery and providing humanitarian services to the Yemenis.

The European ambassadors also expressed their understanding of the needs raised by the government and their happiness with the success of the international meeting to support the Yemeni government in New York, and the importance of joint action to mobilize international support for the economic recovery plan.

In a related context, the EU ambassadors met with the Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen, Ahmed Ghaleb, and were briefed on the bank’s ongoing efforts to stabilize the currency and support economic reforms.

The European Union delegation said via the X platform that the ambassadors confirmed the European Union's support and stressed the essential role played by the bank at this important juncture.

The EU Ambassadors also met with Aden Governor Ahmed Lamlas and discussed ongoing efforts to address the many challenges facing the governorate to ensure that Aden benefits from its great potential economically, as well as as a beacon of civic space and fundamental freedoms, a centre for effective governance and a welcoming host to the country’s diversity, according to the mission.
