Taiz city witnessed, this evening, the lighting of the torch of the 14th anniversary of the February 11 Revolution on the eve of the annual anniversary.

Thousands of citizens gathered, waving national flags, on Jamal Street in the city center, where the torch was lit, amid chants expressing the continuation of the revolution that began on February 11, 2011.

At the same time, fireworks were launched from Cairo Citadel to decorate the sky of Taiz city with an artistic painting in celebration of the immortal memory of February.

In addition, the Popular Resistance Council in Taiz Governorate called for a large public gathering to commemorate the fourteenth anniversary of the launch of the February 11 Revolution, under the slogan "February Liberation and Restoration of the State."

The council explained in a statement that the mass march will start at nine o'clock in the morning tomorrow, Tuesday, February 11, from Jamal Street to Freedom Square, confirming the continuation of the revolutionary path and the restoration of the state.

The statement indicated that the gathering points on Jamal Street are Al-Awadhi Roundabout and Wadi Al-Qadi Roundabout.

The Council called on the people of Taiz and all national forces to participate actively in this occasion, which represents a historic milestone in the ongoing struggle of the Yemenis for freedom and dignity.

The 14th anniversary of the peaceful February 11 Revolution comes amid the ongoing war in Yemen since the Houthi militias began their armed rebellion against the state and took control of the capital, Sana’a, on September 21, 2014, and the war that followed.
